Harwell is the perfect place to discover rural life,

without leaving the city lights too far behind.

Situated in south Oxfordshire, Harwell benefits from the largely rural county, with lots of picturesque villages, country pubs and walking opportunities nearby.

The area is also close to the M4, giving you direct access to the south west and Wales in one direction, and to London, Heathrow and the M25 in the other.

Closer to home is Oxford, a major international cultural centre and tourist magnet. The city is large enough to have everything you’d expect, from shops and entertainment, but small enough to get around with ease. If you want somewhere a bit quieter, but still with great shopping opportunities, and great travel links, Reading is also just 40 minutes by car.

Away from the city, the local area has lots of activities for families, and Heathrow and Southampton International airports are both under an hour away. You can also find frequent high-speed trains from Didcot, which can get you into London in an hour.

With such great travel links, house prices in Didcot are competitive by South East England standards. Average property prices in the three months leading to December 2021 was at £366,955. However, nearby Wiltshire does provide more affordable housing.

  • Harwell is very scenic. There are large areas of greenery and rural villages. But it’s also easy to travel to Oxford, London and Reading.
